Dr. Kai Wucherpfennig is the Chair of the Department of Cancer Immunology and Virology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is also a Professor of Immunology and Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He serves as the co-leader of the Cancer Immunology Program at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. 

Dr. Wucherpfennig has made important contributions to immunology, in particular on the study of T cells which are key effector cells of protective tumor immunity. His work led to the discovery of mechanisms of resistance to cancer immunotherapy which his lab is using to develop next-generation cancer immunotherapies. 

He has been elected as a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Henry Kunkel Society at Rockefeller University and as Fellow of the American Society for the Advancement of Science. He serves on the Postdoctoral Fellowship Review Committee of the Cancer Research Institute.
