Each year, CRI bestows its highest scientific honors – The William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Basic and Tumor Immunology, and the Frederick W. Alt Award for New Discoveries in Immunology – upon leading scientists whose research has made a significant impact on the fields of immunology and cancer immunotherapy.

William B. Coley Award
For Distinguished Research in Basic and Tumor Immunology
The William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Basic and Tumor Immunology has been given to some of the world’s most gifted scientists. Their work has deepened our understanding of the immune system’s response to cancer and other diseases and advanced the development of effective immunotherapies.

Lloyd J. Old Award
In Cancer Immunology
The AACR-CRI Lloyd J. Old Award in Cancer Immunology recognizes an active scientist whose outstanding and innovative research has had a major impact on the cancer field and has the potential to stimulate new directions in cancer immunology.

Frederick W. Alt Award
For New Discoveries in Immunology
The Frederick W. Alt Award for New Discoveries in Immunology is presented annually to a former Cancer Research Institute postdoctoral fellow in recognition of outstanding success in academia or industry for research that has had a major impact in the field of immunology.
