Cancer Research Institute Joins the Revlon LOVE IS ON 2016 Million Dollar Challenge on CrowdRise

Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is proud to participate in the Revlon LOVE IS ON 2016 Million Dollar Challenge, a fundraising competition that lives on—the largest crowdfunding platform for good. Launched by Revlon in 2015, the Challenge was created to help charities supporting women’s health raise as much money as possible for their cause. CRI placed second in last year’s competition and received a $250,000 donation from Revlon to support cancer immunotherapy research.

During the course of the six-week Challenge, participating organizations focused on women’s health will compete to raise donations with $1,425,000 in prize money at stake. CRI has joined the Challenge to make an impact on women’s health by supporting immunotherapy research for all cancers, including those that affect women worldwide most, such as breast, lung, and colorectal cancers.

“Each year, more than 6 million women worldwide develop cancer, and more than 3 million women die from the disease,” said Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, PhD, CEO and director of scientific affairs for the Cancer Research Institute. “It’s a global health crisis, and immunotherapy offers significant hope for reducing cancer deaths worldwide.” The Revlon LOVE IS ON 2016 Million Dollar Challenge will launch on CrowdRise on September 14, 2016, and will run through October 26, 2016. The team that raises the most during the Challenge wins a $1 million donation from Revlon, second place wins $100,000, third place wins $75,000, fourth place wins $50,000, and fifth place wins $25,000. Weekly Bonus Challenges enable charities to win up to another $175,000. CrowdRise Challenges are innovative fundraising competitions for charitable organizations.
