Marla joined the Cancer Research Institute in 2012. In her role as Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, she manages all of CRI’s current and prospective foundation donors, as well as charitable support from CRI’s corporate partners. Prior to joining CRI, Marla had a successful career in corporate finance, working for such prestigious firms as J.P. Morgan, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. Marla brings strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills to her role at CRI, as well as her affinity for working with all types of people.
Marla holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, as well as a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Penn State University. In her spare time, Marla is an accomplished amateur pianist, a competitive bridge player, and an avid fan of travel, baseball, and the performing arts.
Marla is deeply committed to the search for effective treatments for cancer, having lost numerous family members and friends to various forms of the disease.
When I read about the recent breakthroughs in immunotherapy, I am filled with hope that we are very close to conquering this terrible disease. If I can be part of bringing that hope to fruition, I will have done something truly meaningful with my life.
