Postdoctoral Fellowships Apply for a CRI Postdoctoral Fellowship Start Application Continue Application The CRI Postdoctoral Fellowship Program provides three years of critical financial support and continued career training to the most promising young scientists in basic and tumor immunology as part of our lifesaving work in cancer immunotherapy research. There are three tracks within the CRI Postdoctoral Fellowship Program: CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship: Furthers career development and supports laboratory research for promising young scientists working under the mentorship of leading immunologists.CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship to Promote Racial Diversity: Furthers career development and supports laboratory research for promising young scientists who identify as Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino/a American, or American Indian or Alaska Native, working under the mentorship of leading immunologists.NEW: CRI Immuno-Informatics Postdoctoral Fellowship: Supports qualified young scientists at academic research institutions around the world who wish to receive dual training in immunology and data science. The Cancer Research Institute recognizes that getting to the next great breakthrough in cancer treatment will require continued investment in fundamental research and training. CRI, therefore, invites postdoctoral fellows working in both fundamental immunology and tumor immunology to apply for funding. SEE APPLICATION GUIDELINES Overview Young scientists are the lifeblood of cancer research. Rich with new ideas and energy, these bright and talented minds are eager to solve important scientific questions. The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is CRI’s longest-standing continuous program. Postdoctoral fellowships provide support to fund and train young immunologists and cancer immunologists at top universities and research centers around the world. Fellows work and continue their training under the guidance of a world-renowned immunologist, who mentors the fellow and prepares him or her for a productive and successful career in cancer immunology. Fellows receive up to $186,000 over three years to cover the cost of salary, insurance, and other research-related expenses, such as travel to conferences and meetings. The institutional allowance can also be used for childcare. History & Accomplishments Since this program’s inception, more than 1,500 young scientists have received postdoctoral fellowship awards from CRI. CRI Fellows have made groundbreaking discoveries that have laid the foundation for the field, and have gone on to lead major research programs and centers and win some of the most prestigious awards in biomedical science, including the Nobel Prize. More importantly, CRI Fellows have contributed to numerous research discoveries that have since resulted in lifesaving treatments for cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
