Kunle Odunsi, MD, PhD

Adekunle “Kunle” Odunsi, MD, PhD, FRCOG, FACOG, is the director of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also serves as biological sciences division dean for oncology and professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago.

He was previously the deputy director of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where he also serves ad the chair of the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, the executive director of the Center for Immunotherapy, and the co-leader of the tumor immunology and immunotherapy research program. There, he oversaw all scientific and clinical research-related initiatives, and works to transfer scientific discoveries into clinical settings.

Dr. Odunsi has made significant research contributions, which include the characterization of tumor antigens and then using them to develop immunotherapy vaccines for ovarian cancer patients. He has been elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Medicine and is a fellow of both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to being a member of CRI’s Scientific Advisory Council, Dr. Odunsi serves on the CLIP Grant Review Committee and is also a member of CRI’s Clinical Leadership Committee.
