La historia de Kevin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Desde que tiene uso de raz\u00f3n, Kevin Lankes escribe cuentos. El primero, que escribi\u00f3 a los 5 a\u00f1os, trataba sobre pizzas gigantes mutantes que aterrorizaban a la ciudad. En 2011, a los 25 a\u00f1os, se encontr\u00f3 en el centro de un drama a\u00fan m\u00e1s aterrador: un melanoma en estadio III. Recib\u00ed mi diagn\u00f3stico por tel\u00e9fono en agosto de 2011. Fue un momento surrealista. Enseguida, me puse en modo expeditivo y empec\u00e9 a coordinar consultas con el m\u00e9dico. Algunas personas se desmoronan enseguida; yo no, yo me derrumbo m\u00e1s adelante. As\u00ed que en diciembre de 2011 comenc\u00e9 el tratamiento. Fue un mes muy dif\u00edcil. Iba al hospital de lunes a viernes para conectarme a la m\u00e1quina, me colocaban la v\u00eda intravenosa y me sentaba en la silla con todos los dem\u00e1s en la sala de tratamiento. Me estaba quedando con mi t\u00eda abuela en Pittsburgh; y regresaba a su casa, me sentaba en ese escritorio en el dormitorio de hu\u00e9spedes y escrib\u00eda a pesar de los escalofr\u00edos y la fiebre. Paraba para cenar a eso de las 6:30 o 7:00. Cuando ya no pod\u00eda seguir despierto por m\u00e1s tiempo, tomaba ansiol\u00edticos y ca\u00eda desmayado. Luego, me despertaba por la ma\u00f1ana y hac\u00eda todo de nuevo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Si no fuera por todos los aspectos negativos del c\u00e1ncer, todos ver\u00edan sus ventajas.
