This report provides a quantitative and current overview of the cancer cell therapy field, reveals the unparalleled speed of the field\u2019s expansion, highlights exciting innovations in the development pipeline, and advises strategies to advance the field as a whole.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report, titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/nrd.2018.74\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Global Landscape of Cancer Cell Therapy<\/a>,\u201d appeared online today in <em>Nature Reviews Drug Discovery<\/em>, a premium journal from Nature Publishing Group and an authoritative source of information in drug discovery and development. This report, which expands on CRI\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/annonc\/article\/29\/1\/84\/4693829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously published landscape analysis<\/a> of the entire field of immuno-oncology, highlights the geographic distribution of cancer cell therapies worldwide and identifies the dominant presence of CAR T therapies in the cancer cell therapy space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe quantitative analyses from this report reveal unprecedented enthusiasm and innovation in the global cell therapy pipeline,\u201d said Jill O\u2019Donnell-Tormey, PhD, chief executive officer and director of scientific affairs at the Cancer Research Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn addition to traditional powerhouses of drug development such as the United States or European countries, many other countries, especially China, have significant presence in this space,\u201d noted Jun Tang, PhD, a senior research analyst for the CRI Anna-Maria Kellen Clinical Accelerator program and first author on the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cancer Research Institute has created an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.org\/immuno-oncology-landscape\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interactive online dashboard<\/a> based on this report and made it available on the CRI website.
