{"id":11179,"date":"2013-07-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.org\/media-room\/inaugural-issue-of-american-association-for-cancer-research-journal-cancer-immunology-research-debuts\/"},"modified":"2022-07-13T04:29:13","modified_gmt":"2022-07-13T04:29:13","slug":"inaugural-issue-of-american-association-for-cancer","status":"publish","type":"cri_news","link":"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.org\/es\/media-room\/inaugural-issue-of-american-association-for-cancer","title":{"rendered":"Inaugural Issue of American Association for Cancer Research Journal Cancer Immunology Research Debuts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Cancer Immunology Research<\/em>, the newest publication of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), published its debut issue today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journal will publish research articles reporting major advances in all areas of cancer immunology, including basic investigations in host\u2013tumor interactions, developmental therapeutics in model systems, early translational studies in patients, and late-stage clinical trials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As this journal launches, a new collaboration was also announced today between the AACR and the Cancer Research Institute (CRI). As part of the agreement, <em>Cancer Immunity <\/em>will publish its final issue this month and <em>Cancer Immunology Research <\/em>will continue to publish cutting-edge research in cancer immunology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All content of <em>Cancer Immunity<\/em>, founded in 2001, will be posted on the <em>Cancer Immunology Research <\/em>website, allowing readers to access content for both journals in one location. <em>Cancer Immunology Research <\/em>will devote content to CRI events and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to launch this new journal that will further accelerate progress in cancer immunology and immunotherapy and enter into a new partnership with the Cancer Research Institute. By combining the longstanding commitment of CRI to tumor immunology with the breadth and depth of the AACR investment in all aspects of cancer biology, <em>Cancer Immunology Research <\/em>will serve as a link between immunology and the larger cancer research community,\u201d said Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (h.c.), chief executive officer of the AACR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenn Dranoff, MD, founding editor-in-chief of <em>Cancer Immunology Research<\/em> and professor of medicine at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston, will lead this effort, while James P. Allison, PhD, the editor in chief of <em>Cancer Immunity<\/em> and chair of immunology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center<em>, <\/em>will now serve as a deputy editor of <em>Cancer Immunology Research<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCancer immunology, a science that for many decades was largely ignored, is now broadly acknowledged as one of the most promising areas of cancer research, and we look forward to collaborating with AACR in sharing the exciting discoveries and developments in this field with a larger community of oncologists and other cancer specialists,\u201d said Jill O\u2019Donnell-Tormey, PhD, chief executive officer and director of scientific affairs at CRI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When <em>Cancer Immunity <\/em>was first published by CRI under the editorship of the late Lloyd J.
