{"id":11525,"date":"2022-07-01T20:41:24","date_gmt":"2022-07-02T00:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.org\/event\/world-cancer-day-2022\/"},"modified":"2022-07-14T15:47:17","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T19:47:17","slug":"world-cancer-day-2022","status":"publish","type":"cri_events","link":"https:\/\/www.cancerresearch.org\/es\/events\/world-cancer-day-2022","title":{"rendered":"World Cancer Day 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Created in 2000 to be held every February 4, World Cancer Day is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to face one of our greatest challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2022 Campaign Theme: Close the Care Gap \/&nbsp;Realising the problem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qCcB9C2We0o\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The first year of the &lsquo;Close the Care Gap&rsquo; campaign is all about understanding and recognising the inequities in cancer care around the globe.&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 2rem;\">This is the year to question the status quo and help reduce stigma; to listen to the perspectives of the people living with cancer and their communities and let those lived experiences guide our thoughts and actions.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s how we can begin to imagine a better way of doing things and to build a fairer vision of the future&mdash;a future where people live healthier lives and have better access to health and cancer services, no matter where they are born, grow, age, work or live.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This World Cancer Day, what will you learn about the gaps in cancer care?\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>How CRI Is Participating<\/h2>\n<p>As part of the Cancer Research Institute&rsquo;s mission, we are committed to nurturing, promoting, and funding diversity in the community of scientists in the field of immunotherapy.
