Most recent themes have included \u201cFamous Hot Spots\u201d, \u201cNotable New Yorkers\u201d, \u201cParades of the City\u201d, and so much more. This year&#8217;s theme is \u201cMagazines\u201d. Since Through the Kitchen\u2019s inception, the event has raised more than $17 million to fund promising young scientists focused on studying the immune system and its power to conquer cancer. Former fellows funded through the Cancer Research Institute\u2019s Irvington Fellowship Program have gone on to win the Nobel Prize in Medicine and head major research centers and laboratories at top universities throughout the world. These scientists and doctors have made remarkable discoveries and have pioneered lifesaving new treatments for cancer and other diseases.<\/p>\n<p>This is the only charitable event for which guests are invited to walk \u201cthrough\u201d the kitchen at the new restaurants\u00a0in the Seagram Building, The Pool &amp; The Grill. The event will take place on May 6, 2018,\u00a0cocktails at 7:00 pm and dinner at 8:00 pm.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>New in 2018: A Charity Art Auction<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Cancer Research Institute is holding an art auction featuring works by contemporary artists.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsy.net\/auction\/cancer-research-institute-live-benefit-auction-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live art auction<\/a> begins on May 6\u00a0at 9:20pm ET. Register by\u00a0May 5\u00a0at 6:00pm ET. In addition to the works by Ed Ruscha, Anni Albers, Pat Steir, and Fred Tomaselli, a\u00a0Bloomberg Internship, Private Party at The Grill, and Studio Visit with artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov will also be auctioned.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsy.net\/auction\/cancer-research-institute-benefit-auction-2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online silent auction<\/a> is now open and features works by Anselm Reyle, Ezra Stoller, Sze Tsung Nicol\u00e1s Leong, and Billy Al Bengston.
