Lisa M. Coussens, PhD

Oregon Health and Science University

Portland, OR

Dr. Lisa Coussens is the chair of the Cell, Developmental, and Cancer Biology Department and the associate director of Basic Research at the Knight Cancer Institute of Oregon Health and Science University. There, Dr. Coussens’ laboratory explores how immune cells and their mediators regulate cancer development, and how tumor environments can be reprogrammed to improve the effectiveness of treatments for patients. Among other honors, she has been awarded the Gertrude B. Elion Award from the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). Dr. Coussens has been a member of CRI’s Scientific Advisory Council since 2013.
