Tomas Peshkatari is a director in the Global Energy & Power Infrastructure team at BlackRock, which currently manages over $4 billion for investment in the power, midstream, utility, and other areas in the energy sector across three 15-year funds. The team has created over 20 portfolio companies and is actively investing globally. BlackRock acquired the funds in 2017, which were created and built at First Reserve, a private equity firm that has been investing exclusively in the energy sector since 1983.
Mr. Peshkatari joined the Energy and Power Infrastructure business at First Reserve in 2014 and is located in Greenwich, Connecticut. Prior to First Reserve, Mr. Peshkatari was with The Carlyle Group where he worked for eight years investing from the firm’s Infrastructure and Power Generation funds. Prior to that, Mr. Peshkatari was an analyst with Credit Suisse Securities, where he was focused on M&A and financing transactions in the power and utility sector.
Mr. Peshkatari has an undergraduate degree with majors in Computer Science and Economics and a minor in Mathematics from Macalester College, where he graduated magna cum laude.
