Chary Sathea joined the Cancer Research Institute as social media manager in 2018. In her role, she updates CRI social channels (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn) with relevant and engaging materials to inform and educate CRI's communities of supporters, scientists, and patients as well as the general public. In order to cohesively and effectively represent the organization, she collaborates across teams on messaging, community-building, fundraising, and amplifying offline marketing and activities. Chary leads the Cancer Immunotherapy Month social media campaign, including the social media-driven awareness day: Wear White Day.
Chary started her career in business development for the fashion industry and used those valuable skills to branch into general marketing and social media at technology and start-up companies. Now at CRI, she uses social media as a tool for her love of storytelling. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.
In her spare time, Chary volunteers with various organizations through New York Cares, roams the city for creative inspiration and delicious food, and writes restaurant reviews on Yelp.
I lost my grandma to ovarian cancer when I was young. Because of this, I am committed to spread the awareness of effective treatments in any way I can.
