Sharon Slade is the director of strategic initiatives for the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and leads corporate engagement, partnerships, and new strategic programming. Sharon has spearheaded the strategy and programming for CRI’s patient education initiatives and Cancer Immunotherapy Month, an awareness month reaching over 5 million people.
Prior to working at CRI, Sharon served in a number of executive marketing roles, including U.S. vice president of marketing and training for CHANEL’s Fashion Division, global vice president of marketing and strategy for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts (STARWOOD), and chief marketing officer for Bleachers, where she developed a new smartphone app for private schools. Sharon also has extensive consulting experience developing growth strategies for lifestyle, fashion, and luxury brands. Her early career included marketing and business development roles at General Mills and Marketing Corporation of America (MCA).
Sharon currently serves as the chairman of Davidson College’s Parent Council, a fundraising and community-building organization. She has been a council member for four years and is actively involved in the "Game Changers" capital campaign and online fundraising.
Sharon graduated with a B.A. degree in English from Colgate University in 1979 and received an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College in 1983.
