Men and Cancer
Healthy For Life
About half of all men will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives. Despite some advances in treating the disease, the stark reality is that nearly 300,000 men in the U.S. alone die of cancer each year. Clearly, the old solutions aren't working well enough.

aMENity, a U.S.-based men's grooming product company, searched among the best cancer charities to find the one that shared their passion for scientific excellence and imaginative solution building. Their search led them to the Cancer Research Institute.

Finding New, Smarter Solutions

With CRI support and guidance, scientists are making great strides in the development of therapeutic cancer vaccines and antibody therapies. Some of these have already entered the mainstream of cancer treatment, and more are on the way, including immune-based therapies for prostate cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer — the three deadliest cancers in men.

How aMENity is Helping

To help the Cancer Research Institute forge new paths in cancer therapy, aMENity makes an annual donation to CRI, and helps raise awareness of the Institute's work by including CRI's logo and information on men's cancer in its packaging and promotional materials.

How You Can Help

aMENity is helping in the fight against cancer. But you can help too by making a direct contribution to CRI, which can be made by clicking on the "Donate to CRI" link below.

Together, aMENity and the Cancer Research Institute are working to discover new solutions that can make a real impact in lives of men, women, and children with cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, in 2008:

  • Lung Cancer: 114,690 men diagnosed, and 90,810 killed
  • Prostate Cancer: 186,320 men diagnosed, and 28,660 killed
  • Colorectal Cancer: 77,250 men diagnosed, and 24,260 killed

Your contribution will help power the international research collaborations needed to discover innovative ways to bolster the body's natural defenses against cancer.

The Cancer Research Institute dedicates its resources to supporting cutting-edge laboratory and clinical science, energizing teams of researchers working together to develop new therapies that help the immune system control or destroy these and other cancers that affect men.
