July 31, 2013 | Erin Kim

For the first time, the Cancer Research Institute has been selected to be a participating charity in the 2013 ING New York City Marathon. Deadline to register for a slot at this year’s race is September 13th, so register now and join Team CRI to help end cancer through immune-based treatments by running in the ING New York City Marathon!

The 2013 ING NYC Marathon, which takes place in New York City on November 3, is expected to be “the year’s biggest marathon again and, similar to the 2011 Marathon, the largest in history.” The race stretches across all five boroughs starting off in Staten Island and ending in Central Park. “This year will be especially meaningful as we honor NYC one year after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, and as we run inspired by, and in support of, Boston,” stated Mary Wittenberg, president and CEO of New York Road Runners.

More than 8,000 charity runners will participate in this year’s race including Team CRI. Over the past two years, Team CRI runners have run numerous races across the nation and have raised substantial funds for continuing research in the development of promising new immune-based treatments for all different types of cancer. Running on behalf of a loved one or a cause demonstrates a grand gesture of hope and perseverance in the fight against cancer. We have seen so many dedicated runners devoting their time and resources in support of loved ones in the fight against cancer. Become a part of Team CRI and you can strengthen the fight for a cure.
