On June 9, 2011, the Cancer Research Institute Young Philanthropists held their fouth annual Midsummer Social. More than 230 guests joined the YPs at Kiss & Fly nightclub in Manhattan's Meatpacking District. VIP tables, open bar, and a great party vibe thanks to the nonstop music of DJ Bryant Jones, which had our guests dancing into the night.
A special prize contest featured sporting and restaurant tickets, cosmetic gift packages, hotel stays, and fashion accessories. The Midsummer Social netted more than $14,000, which will go toward the CRI Young Philanthropists Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. This award provides $145,500 over three years to a highly talented young scientist working to advance knowledge of the immune system and its application to solving the cancer problem.
