Annual Awards Dinner

The Cancer Research Institute annually honors leaders in science, industry, and philanthropy whose significant contributions to the advancement of cancer research and treatment further the Institute's vision of new, immune-based approaches to the treatment, control, and prevention of cancer. The awards that are presented include the: William B. Coley Award for Distinguished Research in Basic and Tumor Immunology, Oliver R. Grace Award for Distinguished Service in Advancing Cancer Research, Helen Coley Nauts Service Award, and Frederick W. Alt Award for New Discoveries in Immunology.

"Since its first awards dinner in 1975, CRI has sought to honor individuals who have made pioneering, often overlooked advances in our understanding of how the immune system interacts with and can be harnessed to fight cancer," says CRI chief executive officer and director of scientific affairs Jill O'Donnell-Tormey, Ph.D. "Today, the field of tumor immunology is producing significant advances in the treatment of cancer, as seen with the ongoing development of cancer vaccines and antibodies capable of helping patients live longer."
