Brian J. Brille was appointed Chairman, Asia Pacific in March 2012 and is responsible for the coverage of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s strategic client relationships in the region and representing the firm broadly. He is based in Hong Kong.
Bank of America’s Asia Pacific business consists of a network of offices in 12 countries and territories throughout the region that serve clients in Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets, Global Product Solutions, and Global Wealth Management.
Previously, Brille was President of the Asia Pacific region, responsible for the combined Bank of America and Merrill Lynch businesses in the region. Before moving to Asia, Brille was Head of Americas Corporate & Investment Banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, with responsibility for the company’s corporate and private equity clients in the region. Prior to the merger of Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, Brille was Head of Global Investment Banking at Bank of America from 2005 to 2008. He joined Bank of America in 1999 as Global Head of Healthcare Investment Banking, and assumed the additional role of Global Head of Financial Sponsors in 2002.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Brille was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and ran the Healthcare Services Corporate Finance Group which he established in 1991. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1987 as an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions department.
In 2003, Brille was named Investment Dealers’ Digest Banker of the Year.
Brille holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, a Masters of Public Policy from Harvard University’s School of Government, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He is a C.P.A. and an attorney. Brille is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Research Institute.
