Marla Sincavage joined CRI in August 2012 as manager of corporate and foundation giving, after completing an internship on the Foundation Relations team of Carnegie Hall’s development group. Prior to her work in development, Marla had a successful 15-year career in corporate finance, working for such prestigious firms as J.P. Morgan, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. Marla brings strong writing skills and a knack for organization to her role at CRI, as well as her affinity for working with all types of people.
Marla holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business, where she also did work towards a doctorate degree. Her graduate research focused on the effects of new accounting requirements on employers’ decisions to offer postretirement benefits other than pensions. She also holds a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Economics from Penn State University. In her spare time, Marla is an accomplished amateur pianist, a competitive bridge player, and an avid fan of travel, wine, and the performing arts.
Marla is deeply committed to the search for effective treatments for cancer, having lost her grandmother, two cousins, and all her uncles to various forms of the disease. “When I read about the recent breakthroughs in immunotherapy, I am filled with hope that we are very close to conquering this terrible disease. If I can be part of bringing that hope to fruition, I will have done something truly meaningful with my life.” — Marla
