Lisa M. Coussens, Ph.D.

Dr. Coussens is professor, chair, and associate director of basic research at the Knight Cancer Institute of Oregon Health and Science University, where her laboratory focuses on the role of immune cells and their mediators as critical regulators of cancer development.
After receiving her B.A. at San Francisco State University, she went on to earn at Ph.D. in biological chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Coussens served as a professor in the department of pathology at UCSF until 2011 when she joined Oregon Health and Science University as Chair of the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology.
