Summer 2010: Herb Nichols, a former World War II Navy pilot, believes in Cancer Research Institute's mission and makes regular annual donations in addition to his estate plans, which include CRI as a beneficiary. Spring 2010 : We're all aging, and with age comes greater risk of cancer. Fall 2009: Sometimes it’s difficult to be charitable when you are unsure if you will need those assets in the future—of course, your family comes first. But there is a way to make a significant gift that takes into account tax-saving strategies and income-producing assets. These types of gifts are called planned gifts. While the primary purpose of a planned gift is to contribute to the charitable cause of your choice, its secondary purpose may be for you to enjoy the personal financial or family benefits that certain plans can provide you.

Spring 2009: Jesse Kimple is only 21 years old, but he's already planning ahead for the future by naming the Cancer Research Institute as a beneficiary of his employer-sponsored life insurance policy. Learn how you can make a gift to support cancer research through your life insurance policy. Also discussed in this issue: unitrusts and crafting bequest language.

Winter 2009: Don & Diana Holmes have always looked to the future: these retired NASA software developers helped send the earliest rockets into space, and now they're helping Cancer Research Institute create the next modality of cancer therapy. Charitable remainder trusts, and making gifts to your I.R.A. are discussed in this issue of Visionary.

Fall 2008: Colon cancer survivor Carole Franklin made CRI a beneficiary of a certificate of deposit (CD). She's living life to the fullest, enjoying the company of her many friends in the Red Hat Society and secure in knowing that her gift to the Cancer Research Institute is helping to make a difference. This issue describes several of the many different planned giving options you might consider, and also lists our Helen Coley Nauts Society of donors who've named CRI a beneficiary of their planned gifts.

Spring 2008: Retired Spanish language and literature professor Hugh Kennedy can travel the world and help secure the future of the Cancer Research Institute at the same time thanks to his gift annuity.
